Delivering More: The Foundation of Trust in Construction

Joffrion Beasley, Director of Quality Control, Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing
Tweet

Joffrion Beasley is the Director of Quality Control at Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing, bringing decades of experience in building envelope risk management and QA/QC commissioning. He holds a Master of Arts in Humanities from the University of Houston–Clear Lake, graduating summa cum laude and maintains certifications as a BERM (Building Envelope Risk Manager) and QAQCx (Quality Assurance Quality Control Commissioning). Born in Dallas and raised in Greater Houston, Joffrion has called The Woodlands Township home for 25 years. A proud graduate of Houston’s High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA), he remains deeply connected to the arts through philanthropy. His professional focus includes mentorship, coaching, consulting and real estate and property management. Guided by the belief that value must always be evident in one’s presence and contributions, Joffrion lives by the idea that “those who can, do; and those who cannot, teach”— always striving to do both with excellence. Retirement, to him, is simply not an option.

In today’s construction industry, delivering quality work is expected. What sets a contractor apart—what builds lasting trust and earns repeat business—is the ability to deliver more consistently. At Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing, that’s more than just a philosophy; it’s a guiding principle that shapes every project we touch.

As the Director of Quality Control at Chamberlin, I have the privilege of overseeing the implementation of this principle from planning to close-out. “Delivering more” means exceeding client expectations in every measurable category— safety, quality, communication, coordination and responsiveness—without exceeding the budget. And that’s not just ‘talk’. We’ve gathered extensive client feedback through surveys and direct conversations and the message is clear: clients return to us because they get more for their money

Let me illustrate with a few recent projects that embody this mindset.

At the historic Ross Sterling House in Houston, renovating the former governor’s mansion required precision, respect for the building’s legacy and modern performance. Chamberlin was tasked with completely removing an aged, modified bitumen roofing system and installing a high-performance PVC membrane roofing system, copper standing seam roofing, custom flashing and sheet metal, fluid-applied waterproofing and comprehensive masonry restoration. Every detail mattered—from carefully restoring limestone to ensuring the roof pavers were functional and historically appropriate. Our crew delivered a finished product that resolved long-standing issues and preserved the architectural character of a Texas treasure.

Quality is not just a department; it is a shared responsibility. At Chamberlin, we exceed expectations in safety, communication and craftsmanship. This commitment to delivering more builds trust earns loyalty and keeps our clients coming back for every project

The Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center project presented a different challenge in Dallas. Much of the facility had not seen significant updates since 1957. Leaks and water intrusion have become persistent problems in heavily trafficked areas, including the loading dock, A/B Hall and Ceremonial Drive. Chamberlin was called in to bring lasting solutions. Our team approached the job methodically—first identifying the authentic sources of infiltration, then removing and replacing aging membranes, repairing structural concrete and installing new, robust waterproofing systems. The work was performed live, requiring careful coordination to avoid disrupting ongoing events.

What made both projects successful wasn’t just the technical expertise— intentional coordination, clear communication and rigorous quality assurance throughout. Our teams solved problems proactively, processed submittals quickly and completed the work under budget and ahead of schedule. That’s the Chamberlin difference.

In my role, I often say that “quality” is not a department—it’s a responsibility we all share. Everyone from the field crews to the project managers and our executive team understands the value of going above and beyond. We are committed to delivering more because we know our clients notice it—and, more importantly, they value it.

Think about your own experience as a customer. What happens when you walk into a store, restaurant, or service provider and feel like you receive more than expected? You go back. You recommend it. You become loyal. That same principle applies in our industry. Delivering more is the best job security we can invest in—for our clients, company and people.

In a competitive market, the best companies aren’t those that simply meet the standard—they are the ones that raise it. At Chamberlin, we choose to be that company, one project at a time.
